Instructions for use:

  • The tab CHI1&2-2009 of Wim's Dashboard for Chinese is meant for students who participate in the Hanzi University modules for learning Mandarin Chinese CHI1 and CHI2 (Sept.2009-Feb.2010)
  • This tab will be gradually filled with more buttons during the course to support the learning and studying of Chinese: Some buttons will be added, some will be deleted.
  • If you feel the need for additional buttons or you want a deleted button to appear again, please let me know!!

    For example:

    - During the first lesson of the course, several students wanted to know how to write their name in Chinese characters, so a ' Chinese name'  button was added.

    - In CHI2 the pin1yin1 pronunciation gradually becomes easier and less problematic: some of the pronunciation buttons can be removed

  • IMPORTANT: Use the 'Happy Chinese'  button to reinforce the vocabulary learnt in the Teach Yourself chapters
  • Make your own word lists and practice list in a Vocabulary training programme like ANKI (or Supermemo or ....)

  • NEVER learn words just by themselves: Create mini-sentences that you find in your books or browsing Internet resources

    For example:

Window  ==> Please, close the window! or: There is only one window

Beer ==> I want a beer or: How much is a beer?
